Maple Bowl with Natural Edge

This bowl was turned from a storm damaged maple tree shortly after it was felled. The wood was still wet. Great care was taken to preserve the bark along the edge. Once the turning started, the piece had to be completed in one session because as the wood dried it began to warp into its final shape.
